Everyone loves food, from the visual, the smell, to the savory taste. What cocktail hour food are you serving your guests?
When you are invited to a wedding, sometimes the cocktail hour is the best part as you get to experience different bites, full of flavor. Now that you are planning your wedding and working on your cocktail hour menu, what do you want your guests to experience?
We have different ideas when it comes to what to serve during cocktail hours as it all depend on the formality of the event, but here are a few of our favorites.
Black Ties Affair (Formal)
When you are having a black tie affair, you know you have to serve a bit more of an upscale type of cocktail hour food. Your guests are expecting more high quality food, more creativity, as it is all about the experience. Passed hors d’oeuvres, and plated meals are the norm most of the time for a formal event.
There are different options of tray passed hors d’oeuvres and here are our favorites:
-Spicy Tuna Tartare in Sesame Miso Cones; is a classic hors d’oeuvres that can be served in any season
House Smoked Salmon Pizza with Dill Cream and Caviar; is also a classic with a twist that your guest will for sure remember.
Semi-Formal
Since a semi- formal wedding is less formal, the cocktail hour menu can also be. A few examples of what you can serve are: sandwiches, snacks, cold cuts, buffet style dishes. You can really showcase your favorite foods.
Prime Mini Burgers with Cheddar Cheese and Remoulade
Vegetable Spring Rolls add the perfect amount of crunch to your spring wedding hors d’oeuvre selection
Casual
What do you think when you hear casual food? If you opt into having a casual wedding, make sure your food selection represents that. Most of the time for a casual wedding the hors d’oeuvres are not passed, but rather displayed.
