Bonjour mes amis,
The discussion of whether to invite kids to your wedding is always a touchy one, but it is one to make as quickly as possible to give your guests enough time to plan. Yes, it is appropriate not to invite children, especially if the wedding is in the evening. Keep in mind that if you are having a destination wedding, not inviting kids might be a bit hard, due to the fact that parents might not have a local familiar babysitter to watch their kids.
You have four choices:
1) You can welcome children with open arms; have a kids meal plan, and make sure you keep them occupy with different activities.
2) You can decide to have an “adults only” wedding; call guests with kids and let them know of your plans.
3) You can include immediate family only; nieces, nephew, and sometimes they don’t even have to stay for the reception, but let them stay for the cocktail hour at least.
And my FAVORITE
4.) You can hire a child care service to provide day care either at the reception space, in a hotel room, or in a family member’s home. Give the parents piece of mind that someone amazing will take care of their children while they celebrate your love.
To prevent hurt feelings, it’s wise to avoid allowing some families to bring children while excluding others (unless, of course, the children are in your bridal party).
Happy Planning!!!!
